Fairfield County student receives recognition from the
Ohio Lottery: Academic All Star

MILLERSPORT- -Laura Whalen, a Guidance Counselor at Millersport High School, describes Tyler Gorham as “outgoing, personable, mature, full of life, entertaining and generous.” Gorham is an Academic All Star for the month of October for the Ohio Lottery. He represents the Columbus area.

Gorham is a 12th grader at Millersport High School in Fairfield County. Gorham participates in all school events. He played a major role in creating a parade float for the Homecoming. He also participated in the 2008 Poetry Out Loud recitation competition. He is part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tyler is recognized for his talents and good academic record by Whalen.

Gorham is able to balance his time between National Honors Society, academics, sports, extra curricular activities and work. He is well liked among his peers and teachers. It is no surprise that Gorham is being recognized by the Ohio Lottery as an Academic All Star.

For being recognized as an Academic All Star, Gorham will receive four tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets’ game, recognition at the game, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.

The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to the Academic All Star links on this web site's home page.
