Stellar student honored as Academic All Star by Ohio State Lottery

RICHMOND... The Ohio State Lottery is proud to second the notion that Edison High School’s Kimberlie Smyth is a notable student. Her English teacher, Catherine Miles, has listed all the ways in which Smyth qualifies as an Ohio Lottery Academic All Star.

With a grade point average of 4.04, Smyth is ranked first in her class. She’s a stellar athlete who participates in softball and basketball. She’s active in many clubs and service organizations at Edison High, and she participates in community service projects. To top it all off, she is an umpire in the local softball league.

“She’s a hard-working, conscientious young woman whose integrity and honesty are beyond reproach,” Miles says. “I’ve gotten to know Kimberlie very well. A leader in and out of the classroom, she gives 110 percent to whatever task she faces. In my professional opinion, she will be a success in whatever endeavor she aspires.”

The Ohio State Lottery notes that Kimberlie is a success already and honors her as the October Academic All Star for the Youngstown area. As an Academic All Star, Kimberlie will receive four tickets to an upcoming Lake Erie Monsters game and a prize pack of Monsters’ merchandise. She will also be publicly recognized at the game.

The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
