What’s happening in your world?
Social Studies buff is honored by Ohio State Lottery
BROOKLYN... Joseph Seelbach, a 17-year-old senior at Brooklyn High, has made quite an impression on Annie Hostetler, his History & Social Studies teacher. She is excited about his inquisitive mind and his interest in what’s happening in the world around him.
“Joe has a fantastic understanding of current events, geography and world affairs,” Hostetler says. “He is an exceptional student in Social Studies. His ability to discuss world problems and politics separates him from his peers.”
The Ohio State Lottery agrees and is highlighting him a bit more. Joe has been named as the Lottery’s November Academic All Star for the Cleveland area. He will receive four tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Browns game and will be publicly recognized on the field before the game. He will also receive a prize pack of Browns’ merchandise and assorted Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
Joe is also involved in Brooklyn High’s television show and yearbook.
Principal Marsha Miller says, “He’s a great student, and it’s really nice to see those students who are doing the right things be recognized in this way.”
The Ohio State Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
