Busy, versatile senior honored by Ohio Lottery
NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- All anyone needs to know about why 17-year-old Hailey Ackerman is being honored by the Ohio Lottery was on display recently at a school assembly.
The Veterans’ Celebration Assembly at North Ridgeville High School featured Hailey presiding over the affair as Student Council President. Then she directed, announced and sang with the A Capella Choir at the school-wide assembly. School principal Patricia Bahr says, “I can attribute much of the success of the assembly to Hailey’s dedication and organizational skills.”
Hailey, a senior, is also a member of the National Honor Society and is a Field Commander in the marching band. She competes in academic challenge, drama and track, and holds a second-degree black belt in karate.
“She gives 100 percent of herself to being a true Ranger,” Bahr says. “We are fortunate to have her here.”
The Ohio Lottery is proud to honor Hailey as the January Academic All Star for the Lorain area. She will receive four tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Cavaliers game, where she will be publicly recognized on the court. She will also receive a prize pack of Cavaliers’ merchandise and assorted Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
