CANTON - Nakia Hullum was recently named an Academic All Star by the Ohio Lottery for the month of February. She represents the Akron-Canton area. Hullum is an eighth-grade student at Hartford Middle School who maintains a 3.8 grade point average and participates in advanced classes.

Hullum is noted as being a “conscientious” student who does her best. Michelle Gump-Wilson, the school counselor, says that Hullum is “polite, respectful and intelligent.” She shows compassion to others and understands the importance of planning for her future.

For being recognized as an Academic All Star, Hullum will receive four tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, merchandise from the team and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Ohio Lottery.
