Young actor, artist is honored by Ohio Lottery as
Academic All Star
BROOKLYN -- At 15, Daniel Tomcik already has developed a great love and talent for art and for acting. He has been singled out for being quite good at it, and the art teacher at Brooklyn High School, where Daniel is a freshman, is impressed.
“Daniel has produced an outstanding body of artwork, even at this level of experience and age,” says Christopher Kaspar, who works with art and theater students at Brooklyn High. “He has excelled at the fine arts and in theater.”
Accordingly, Daniel, who earned a role in the stage production of “Anything Goes” as an eighth-grader last year, has an even bigger role this year in Brooklyn High’s production of “High School Musical.” This role, Kaspar says, “further increases Daniel’s stage credibility.”
Daniel is being honored by the Ohio Lottery as its February Academic All Star for the Cleveland area. As an Ohio Lottery Academic All Star, Daniel will receive four tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Cavaliers game, where he will be publicly recognized. He will receive a prize pack of Cavaliers merchandise and assorted Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
“Daniel’s dedication to his craft is evident by the high quality of his artwork and his acting abilities,” Kaspar says.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
