Creative, well-rounded Old Fort senior honored by Ohio Lottery
OLD FORT -- Roni Good’s ability to “think outside the box” is one of the reasons that Home Economics teacher Martha Hall nominated the young woman for the Ohio Lottery Academic All Star award. Being of great character, being in the National Honor Society and being a well-rounded, active and dependable student are among the other reasons that Roni is being honored with the award.
Roni, a senior at Old Fort High School, is being honored by the Ohio Lottery as its February Academic All Star for the Toledo area. As an Ohio Lottery Academic All Star, Roni will receive four tickets to an upcoming Lake Erie Monsters game, where she will be publicly recognized. She will receive a prize pack of Monsters merchandise and assorted Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
“I have known Roni for four years as both a student and a club member,” Hall says. “She has been a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America for four year … and she is willing to think outside the box and arrive at creative activities. She can be counted on to follow through on any tasks assigned to her.”
A music fan, Roni also participates in jazz choir, pep band and Old Fort High plays and musicals. Also a sports fan, she is a three-year member of the softball team and is a volunteer with the volleyball and basketball teams.
In her nomination of Roni, Hall adds: “I separate her from other students because of all these things and her unique and positive character traits. She is friendly, caring, thoughtful and mature.”
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
