Student is Honored by The Ohio Lottery
for Improvement in Her Grades
Delaware, OH- Ashley Colwell is being honored by the Ohio Lottery as an Academic All Star for the month of February. Colwell represents the Columbus area. Colwell is in 7th grade at Dempsey Middle School.
Colwell is described by Anna Allender, Intervention Specialist, as “responsible and respectful.” She was able to improve her grades significantly in three out of four subjects despite learning challenges. Colwell is trying very hard in the classroom to improve her grades while maintaining an A in math. “Ashley has learning challenges that make it twice as difficult for her to achieve academic success than the average 7th grader,” says Allender.
It is without wonder that Colwell is being recognized this month as an Academic All Star by the Ohio Lottery. For being recognized as an Academic All Star, Colwell will receive four tickets to a Columbus Blue Jackets’ game, merchandise from the team, and an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery will continue to recognize Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the school year. For more information about the program and for nomination forms, go to www.Ohiolottery.com.
