North Ridgeville Student Receives Recognition From
The Ohio State Lottery
North Ridgeville... Senior John Smith, known as “Tyler,” recently received recognition as an Academic All Star for the Lottery’s Partners in Education Program. Smith represents the Lorain area for the month of December.
Smith was nominated by his school principal, Patricia Bahr. Smith is a 12th grader at North Ridgeville High School. He was one of thirty individuals to receive the Outstanding Citizen Award selected by the Legionnaires. He was elected President of the Utility Commission which was responsible for the electric company for the state. He has been employed at a heating and cooling company where he has worked for four years.
Smith is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. He placed fourth in district in the Marketing Education Financial Analysis Competition and competed at the state level in Travel and Tourism. As a member of the Ranger Tennis Team, he achieved the most wins in several years and placed fourth at the West Shore Conference Tournament. He volunteers for his Community Care adopted family.
For being recognized as an Academic All Star, Smith will receive four tickets to an upcoming Cleveland Browns’ game, recognition at the event, and a merchandise prize pack. Smith will also receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
