Middle School Student Receives Recognition

Akron... Jocelyn Petron, a 7th grader at Robert G. Hyre Middle School, recently was named Academic All Star for the month of December by the Ohio State Lottery. Petron represents the Akron/Canton area.

Petron is described as kind and hard working. She is active in many activities which benefit the school as well as the community. She is always willing to help others and is described as a true asset to her school and community.

Petron also plays the viola at churches and is the first to volunteer at school when help is needed. Petron recently became a member of Student Council. She was also the understudy for the lead in the school play. Petron has exceptional grades and works very hard at maintaining those grades.

For being recognized as Academic All Star, Petron will receive four tickets to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ game, recognition at the event, and a merchandise prize pack. Petron will also receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise from the Lottery.
