CLEVELAND – The Ohio Lottery presented a Top Prize Drawing (TPD) winner with a check for $250,000 on Dec. 15, 2008, at a press conference at Lottery Central offices in Cleveland.

Harold Aukerman, 69, of Wooster purchased his winning $5 Holiday Riches ticket at Lucky Bucks on Cleveland Rd. in Wooster. The original ticket was purchased Jan. 2008, at which time Auckerman won an instant $1,000 prize. When he made that claim, he was automatically entered into the drawing for the $250,000 top prize. The TPD drawing was held at Ohio Lottery offices Dec. 4, 2008. There were 18 people in this TPD drawing.

Aukerman was told he was required to visit Lottery offices to complete compulsory paper work. Lottery Executive Director Michael A. Dolan surprised him with a giant check at a joint press conference for Ohio’s $207 Mega Millions jackpot this weekend and to present Aukerman with his check for $250,000. Media representatives were on hand. Auckerman was candid with reporters when he stated, “it’s about time I won, I’ve been playing long enough.”
