Top Prize Means a Life Change

DAYTON – A Kettering resident says she is proof that playing the Ohio Lottery pays. After winning $50K a year for 20 years on the Millionaire Spectacular game, Jacqueline Cleere turned in her letter of resignation.

Cleere chose the cash option on the $1 million prize. After mandatory withholding federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, she receives a lump sum of $355,000. Cleere said this was her first time buying a $10 ticket. Excited about winning, she plans to buy a new car, take a vacation, and she has already given her last day of work. She said it’s July 24, if not sooner.

Cleere purchased the ticket from Basra, 3001 Kettering Boulevard in Dayton. This retailer receives a $10,000 bonus for selling a top prize Millionaire Spectacular instant game.
