One of Two $250,000 Prizes Claimed

COLUMBUS – Two second-tier prize winning tickets were sold in the April 16 Mega Millions’ drawing. Jeffrey Shaffner of Fredericktown won $250,000 after matching five of the five numbers and no mega ball.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent are withheld, Shaffner receives $177,500.

He purchased the second-tier prize winning ticket from Polaris Parkway Duchess, 1925 Polaris Parkway in Columbus. He used auto lotto. The winning numbers were 2-5-15-18-39. The mega ball number was 42. Polaris Parkway Duchess receives a $1000 agent bonus for selling a second-tier prize winning ticket.
