Ohio Lottery posts monthly record transfer to education

CLEVELAND – The Ohio Lottery transferred $86,344,000 to the Lottery Profits Education Fund (LPEF) for the month of April, making it the highest monthly transfer to education in Lottery history. The previous monthly record of $74.4 million was set in December 2011. Transfers made to date this fiscal year total $650.5 million.

The April transfer to the LPEF comes after record breaking March sales, due in part to the $656 million Mega Millions jackpot on March 30, 2012. Mega Millions sales for the jackpot sequence, January 24, 2012 to March 30, 2012, totaled $63.3 million. Ohio Lottery instant tickets and KENO continue to be strong performers with KENO setting weekly sales records.

One hundred percent of Ohio Lottery profits generated support K-12 public education in Ohio.
