Strongsville postal carrier wins $100,000 In the Emerald 7’s Top Prize drawing

CLEVELANDPaul Caloumenos of Strongsville went a little numb after finding out he won $100,000 in a top prize drawing for the Ohio Lottery’s $5 instant game, Emerald 7’s.  The postal carrier had taken a quick break from delivering mail to return a phone call from an Ohio Lottery representative, when he found out he won.   During that call, he told Ohio Lottery officials that it was going to be pretty tough to finish his route.  However, the dutiful, 18-year employee of the U.S. postal service did just that.

Today, Caloumenos came to the Ohio Lottery’s downtown Cleveland headquarters to make his $100,000 claim.  He’s held onto the secret since Aug. 25.

Caloumenos plans to use his winnings to help a brother pay medical bills.  He’s also a golfer, and may spend a little bit on himself – for a new set of golf clubs.

Caloumenos purchased the ticket that landed him in the top prize drawing from Convenient Food Mart on Puritas Avenue in Cleveland.  He held one of 37 entries in the drawing.
