BROADCASTING CHANGES EFFECTIVE JULY 1

New carrier stations to air drawings and game show; Classic Lotto web broadcasts

CLEVELAND
– The Ohio Lottery is pleased to announce three new broadcasting partners who will carry our nightly drawings and the Cash Explosion game show, effective July 1:
  • WKYC-TV3, Cleveland
  • WTVG-TV13, Toledo
  • WRGT-TV45/WKEF-TV22 Dayton
The three new carriers won the rights to broadcast the drawings and game show in their respective markets through a competitive bidding process initiated by the Ohio Lottery’s media partner, Marcus-Thomas LLC.

Along with these changes, Classic Lotto, the Lottery’s in-state jackpot game, will be broadcast exclusively on the Ohio Lottery website.

“These changes reduce our fixed broadcast commitments by more than $600,000 and optimize expenditures in our viewing markets,” said Dennis Berg, Interim Director. The changes also enable the Lottery to keep its evening drawings and game show at the same time to which our players are accustomed.

“We’re continuing to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of our audience,” said Berg. “By moving the Classic Lotto broadcast to our website, our loyal base of Classic Lotto players can view the drawing at their convenience. They’re no longer tied to their televisions.”

Ohio Lottery drawings are aired Monday through Friday at 7:29 p.m., and on Saturday during the game show. Cash Explosion will be aired on the new stations at its regular time on Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.
