ATHENS - Two residents put Athens on the map of winners after filing claims in the regional office. William R. Howell of Jackson won $20,000 scratching the Ohio Lottery’s Money Maker. Jessica R. Savage of Shade won $10,000 scratching Double-Sided Dollars.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Howell receives a check for $13,800. Savage receives a check for $6,900.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $17 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2010 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $728.6 million.
