KICKER’s final drawing tomorrow - Ohio prepares for Megaplier®

CLEVELAND – Tomorrow at approximately 11 p.m., the Ohio Lottery will draw its final KICKER numbers.  KICKER can be purchased until the drawing pools for Mega Millions and KICKER close at 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 14.

After a 22 year run, KICKER, will be coming to a close in Ohio.  KICKER, which is played as an add-on game to Mega Millions since October 2005 -- and before that, Super Lotto -- has been a part of the Ohio Lottery game portfolio since 1988.  Since inception, holders of more than 1,120 tickets have won the game’s $100,000 top prize.  By the time of the last drawing, players will have shared more than $451 million in total prizes.

In its place, the Ohio Lottery will add Megaplier, a prize enhancement option for Mega Millions players, standardizing the Mega Millions game product among the member states.

For $1 Megaplier purchase per wager, players can multiply non-jackpot prizes by two-, three- or four-times the prize.  The 5-of-5 match without the mega ball becomes an automatic $1-million win when the Megaplier is purchased.

Sales for Megaplier begin Saturday, Jan. 15. The first Mega Millions drawing with Megaplier is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $17 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Ohio Lottery transferred $728.6 million to the Lottery Profits Education Fund in Fiscal Year 2010.
