Sandusky resident starts year on a high note

LORAIN – A Sandusky resident won in 2009 but he started 2010 on a high note after filing a claim in the Lorain regional office this new year.  This week, Jerry C. Stovall filed a claim for $250,000 after matching five of the five numbers, and no mega ball in the 12-15-09 Mega Millions drawing.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Stovall will receive a check for $172,500.

Stovall purchased the second-tier prize winning Mega Millions ticket from Cliff’s Carryout. He used auto lotto. The winning numbers were 27-31-32-36-47. The mega ball number was 35. Cliff’s Carryout receives a $1,000 agent bonus for selling a second-tier prize winning ticket.
