ATHENS -Two players of Ohio Lottery games have put the Athens region on the map of winners. Melissa K. Miller of Mcarthur won $50,000 on Winner Bingo Doubler. Lora J. Elswick of Beaver won $120,000 after matching all five numbers drawn in the 12-31-09 Rolling Cash 5 game.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Miller will receive a check for $34,500. Elswick will receive a check for $82,800.
Miller purchased the winning ticket from Mcarthurs’ Super Valu located at 550 N. Market Street in Mcarthur. Elswick purchased the winning Rolling Cash 5 ticket from Jackson Express. The winning numbers were 5-6-14-19-31. She used auto lotto. Located at 779 E. Main Street in Jackson, Jackson Express receives a $500 agent-selling bonus.
Since 1974, the Ohio Lottery has raised more than $16 billion to support K-12 education across Ohio. The Lottery’s fiscal year 2009 transfer to the Lottery Profits for Education Fund was $702.3 million.
